Treasure in the trash Festival, San Zenone al Po, Pavia, Italy
On the occasion of a small festival “Treasure in the trash” in Italy (San Zenone al Po), I was invited to present a work on the topic “treasure in the trash”. I decided to investigate the “computer-bin”. I asked people (by e-mail, Whatsapp, and Facebook) to send me a file (any kind of file was allowed) selected from their “computer-bin”. I asked them to choose the “best” one in their opinion, a file that could be defined a “re-discovered treasure”. I received surprising feedbacks. People sent interesting files to me, accompained by fascinating texts too. These people expressed thoughts on the topics of “trash” and “memory” in a very simple, but at the same time deep way.

La scorsa estate in occasione di un piccolo festival sul fiume in Italia (rif. S. Zenone al Po’ – Pavia), sono stata invitata a presentare un lavoro sul tema “Treasure in the trash”. La mia idea di “spazzatura” era connessa all’idea del “cestino” nei computers. Ho iniziato così a chiedere alle persone (via e-mail, whatsapp e facebook) di mandarmi un file (qualsiasi tipo di file) selezionato dal cestino del loro computer. Ho chiesto di scegliere il loro file “migliore”, che rappresentasse un “tesoro riscoperto”. Il riscontro è stato sorprendente, 12 persone mi hanno mandato files interessanti, corredati da testi altrettanto interessanti, che esprimevano loro pensieri sul tema del “buttare via” e della memoria in modo molto semplice, ma allo stesso tempo profondo.
