A nest is a refuge, is where you begin, is the place of life. A nest is built with care, attention and ability, and is absolutely essential for a species to keep on existing. A nest is the place where puppies can grow, protected, to adulthood and then continue the life cycle. The installation is composed of nine nests. They look like big baskets. In Mythology legends from various cultures, special baskets were transported by rivers, they contained special children whose destiny to have an important role in the human history was determined at their birth (like Moses or Romulus and Remus)
Baskets are also connected with the “protective womb”, site where births and re-births take place. “The nest” brings our imagination to the future. The title of the work “NIDI” MONUMENT TO THE SEVENTH GENERATION” is inspired by the thought of Vandana Shiva, a spokeswoman of the eco-feminist Indian movement. She reminds us the need of a new renaissance, a new forward-looking and sustainable economy. She states that everyone has his/her own role in this transformation, everyone has the responsibility to question im/herself about life style and actions impacting on the future seven generations.
NIDI is dedicated to these seventh generations and turns the attention to a far horizon.

Il nido è rifugio, è il luogo dove la vita ha inizio. E’ costruito con cura, attenzione e abilità, ed è essenziale affinché una specie possa continuare ad esistere.
Il titolo del progetto “NIDI”. MONUMENTO ALLA SETTIMA GENERAZIONE” si ispira al pensiero di Vandana Shiva, portavoce del movimento eco-femminista indiano, la quale ci ricorda la necessità di un nuovo rinascimento, di una nuova economia, sostenibile e lungimirante, in cui ognuno di noi ha la responsabilità di domandarsi l’impatto che il proprio stile di vita ha sulle sette generazioni che lo succedono. Il progetto dunque volge lo sguardo lontano ed è un omaggio alla settima genarazione che ci succederà affinché tutti ne abbiano a cuore l’esistenza.
L’installazione è composta da nove nidi che hanno l’aspetto di grandi ceste, un ulteriore simbolo di protezione. In diverse leggende infatti si narra di “ceste speciali” che hanno protetto “bambini straordinari” con un ruolo importante nella storia dell’umanità come Mosè o Romolo e Remo.
